Moz takes the average monthly search volume across the last 12 months. This helps to prevent \u201coutlier\u201d months from skewing the data.<\/p>\n\n\n We don\u2019t recommend that you get too \u201cbogged down\u201d on this metric as volume metrics never equate to the amount of traffic you can realistically expect to attract.
